Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have.
Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how SPORTLAZ LIMITED, a company registered in the Republic of Cyprus, with its office in Limassol, Cyprus ("SPORTLAZ", "we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you visit sportlaz.com, contact us, or when we contact you about our services.
SPORTLAZ is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, "GDPR") and the Cyprus Law providing for the Protection of Natural Persons with regard to the Processing of Personal Data (Law 125(I)/2018).
Questions about this policy or your data: nl@sportlaz.com.
The personal data we collect
We collect only what we need to run our business and respond to you:
- Contact and enquiry data you give us when you email, call or message us: your name, business email, phone number, company, job title and the content of your message.
- Business contact data from public sources: as a business-to-business agency, we research brands that may benefit from sports sponsorship. This can include a professional's name, job title, company, business email and public professional profile (for example LinkedIn or a company website).
- Client and partnership data: information exchanged while we work with you, such as meeting notes, briefs, proposals and contract-related correspondence.
- Technical data collected automatically when you visit the website: IP address, browser type, device information and pages requested. Our hosting provider records this in server logs for security and reliability.
- Cookie data: see our Cookie Policy.
We do not ask for, and do not want to receive, special categories of personal data (such as health data) through this website.
How we use it and our legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|
| Responding to your enquiries and booking intro calls | Steps at your request before a contract (6(1)(b)) or our legitimate interest in replying to business enquiries (6(1)(f)) |
| Delivering our services: strategy, sourcing, negotiation, contracting and activation | Performance of a contract (6(1)(b)) |
| Contacting businesses that may benefit from our services (B2B outreach) | Legitimate interest in promoting our services to relevant businesses (6(1)(f)). You can object at any time and we will stop. |
| Keeping the website secure and working | Legitimate interest (6(1)(f)) |
| Non-essential cookies, such as analytics, if we use them | Your consent (6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time |
| Accounting, tax and other legal obligations | Legal obligation (6(1)(c)) |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced them against your rights. Our outreach is limited to business contacts in a professional capacity, is relevant to their role, and every message offers a simple way to opt out.
We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. When that happens we make sure it is protected by an appropriate safeguard: an adequacy decision of the European Commission (including the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified) or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and outreach contacts: up to 24 months after our last interaction, unless a business relationship follows. If you object or ask us to stop, we keep only a minimal record so that we do not contact you again.
- Client records: for the duration of our relationship and afterwards for as long as required by Cyprus tax, accounting and company law, or to establish or defend legal claims.
- Server logs: for a short period, normally no longer than 12 months.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- rectify inaccurate data;
- erase your data ("right to be forgotten") where the law allows;
- restrict how we use your data;
- data portability, where processing is based on consent or contract;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests, and at any time to direct marketing, including our outreach;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.
To use any of these rights, email nl@sportlaz.com. We will reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity.
You also have the right to complain to the supervisory authority in Cyprus, the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection (dataprotection.gov.cy), or to the authority in the EU country where you live or work.
How we protect it
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls on our systems and accounts, and confidentiality obligations for anyone who handles it. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep the risk low and will act promptly on any incident, including notifying the authority and affected people where the law requires.
Third-party sites and embedded content
Our website links to and may embed content from third parties, such as Instagram posts, LinkedIn and club or media websites. These services have their own privacy policies and may collect data when you interact with them. We are not responsible for their practices.
The website uses Google Fonts to display text. When a page loads, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Children
Our services are for businesses. The website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
